This cable does what it say's - its a serial PC interface cable. Plugs into the 9way 'D' serial connector on the back of your PC (if you still have one!), and connects snuggly to the back of the Garmin GPS (I own a Garmin eTrek H - and it fits fine, without moving around). Rating: - It works with etrex
I bought the serial cable and the usb serial to usb and after reading the instructions from setup disk, got it to work with Memory map v5.
Only thing to watch is that it sets up as a com port and not a usb port when you set it up. I have it working on com7.
You will find it in GPS setup on Memory Map v5.
Can upload and download track, routes,wayponit etc no problem.
Rating: - Should be cheaper and usb as well
Works really well but this cable should be bundled with the gps or be cheaper. Also you have to buy enother cable which is serial to usb if your pc hasnt got a serial port which most modern pcs havent. That cable is at least alot cheaper.

Excellent product, making downloading to GPS so simple, but why the serial port? Meant you had to buy a usb convertor cable too - bit of a shame! Other than that gripe still a good product.
Rating:  - Wrong Description
I bought this item for a GPS72, which it does not fit. According to the product description the only Garmin GPS which it should not fit is the GEKO101. This seems to be a failure of Amazon administration. A part number would have helped. I don't use Amazon very much - this is part of the reason. The product link appeared like this:-
